Lincs Film Festival and LocationLincs Join Forces to Celebrate Lincolnshire Filmmaking.

A new partnership, a new award and a celebration of the county’s growing screen industry.

We’re delighted to announce a new partnership between LocationLincs and Lincs Film Festival, bringing together two organisations with a shared ambition: to champion filmmaking talent, celebrate Lincolnshire stories and help strengthen the county’s growing screen industry. The partnership will see LocationLincs play a central role in this year’s festival, which is expanding into a county-wide celebration of film and creativity across Lincolnshire.

The collaboration will culminate in a Screen Industries Networking Event in Scunthorpe on 20 November 2026, bringing together filmmakers, creatives and industry professionals from across the county and beyond.

Introducing the LocationLincs Award

One of the most exciting developments in the partnership is the introduction of the LocationLincs Award for Best Lincolnshire Film. The new award will recognise a film that makes particularly striking use of a Lincolnshire filming location or story, celebrating the county not simply as a backdrop, but as an integral part of the stories being told on screen.

Lincolnshire is home to an extraordinary range of landscapes, architecture, communities and untold stories. From its coastline and countryside to historic towns, industrial spaces and distinctive cityscapes, the county offers filmmakers an incredible canvas.

The LocationLincs Award will celebrate those filmmakers who see something special in Lincolnshire and bring that vision to the screen.

LocationLincs LOUD goes live at the festival

The November event will also feature a live recording of the LocationLincs LOUD podcast.

LOUD has been created to give a platform to the people working across the screen and creative industries, sharing stories, experiences, challenges and opportunities from those making things happen both in Lincolnshire and further afield.

Bringing the podcast to Lincs Film Festival feels like a natural next step.

The live recording will create an opportunity for festival audiences and industry guests to come together and be part of the conversation, exploring filmmaking, creativity and the opportunities emerging across the region.

Building a stronger screen community

LocationLincs was created to champion Lincolnshire as a destination for film and television production, connecting productions with locations, talent, crew and businesses across the county. But at its heart, LocationLincs has always been about people.

It is about creating connections. Bringing the industry together. Encouraging collaboration. Helping local talent find opportunities and ensuring that Lincolnshire is increasingly recognised as a place where great stories can be made.

That is why this partnership with Lincs Film Festival feels so exciting. Lincs Film Festival is establishing itself as a platform for emerging and early-career filmmakers, self-taught talent and risk-takers, with a particular focus on honest, character-led storytelling across short fiction, documentary and experimental work. Together, we hope to create more opportunities for filmmakers across the whole county to connect, share their work and become part of a growing screen community.

The beginning of something bigger

This partnership is about more than one event.

It represents a shared belief in the potential of Lincolnshire’s creative community and the importance of creating platforms where filmmakers can meet, collaborate and grow.

Lincolnshire has the locations. It has the stories. It has the talent.

And increasingly, it has a connected screen community working to ensure those opportunities are recognised. We’re incredibly excited to be working with Lincs Film Festival and to see where this collaboration can lead.

Shepherd Screen CIC has launched as an indie cinema in North Lincolnshire, thanks to support from Film Hub North. This funding means they can start bringing feature films to the big screen right here in our community and as part of the Lincs Film Festival programme.

The 2026 Lincs Film Festival is now open for entries, with categories including Short Film, Documentary, Reframed and the North Lincolnshire Student Documentary Challenge.
