The LocationLincs Screen Industries Networking Event returned this spring to Scunthorpe, and it was our biggest and most successful event to date, with nearly 100 attendees in the room. The energy was incredible, and it was inspiring to see so many producers, location teams, crew, creatives, and suppliers coming together to share knowledge and forge connections.

We were joined by an outstanding lineup of speakers, including Kevin Doyle, whose career spans acclaimed TV dramas such as Downton Abbey and Happy Valley; Ian Sharpe, a respected producer offering practical insight into filming across diverse settings; Lee Waddingham, founder of ActingLincs, who shared advice for aspiring talent and local crew; Adam Faux, production designer extraordinaire, giving insight into visual storytelling and design on screen; and Laura Grange, offering valuable perspectives on the current global production landscape. Each brought their experience, passion, and practical tips to the room, sparking conversations that continued well beyond the presentations.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many highlighted the value of being in the same room as decision-makers, with one attendee noting: “It was fantastic to meet producers and location teams face-to-face. I left with new contacts and ideas I can immediately put into practice.” Another commented on the mix of local talent and visiting professionals: “The event showcased the depth of the screen industry in Lincolnshire, I feel part of a real community now.”

The success of this event reflects the growing strength of Lincolnshire’s screen industry, offering cost-effective, versatile locations and a strong local network of skilled crew and suppliers.
